Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-19 · Aletheos Technologies Inc. · Ontario, Canada
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Aletheos platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Aletheos provides a privacy intelligence API and consumer dashboard that enables users to scan AI models and data broker websites for personal data, submit automated removal requests, detect shadow IT exposure, and manage data deletion — in accordance with applicable privacy law including GDPR Article 17 and CCPA.
3. Accounts and API Keys
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- Your API key is personal and must not be shared publicly or with unauthorised parties.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your API key.
- We reserve the right to suspend or revoke API keys that are found to be misused.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Submit removal requests on behalf of another person without their explicit consent.
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the platform.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Circumvent rate limits or quotas through multiple accounts.
5. Free Plan Limitations
Free plan users receive a limited monthly scan quota. Aletheos reserves the right to modify free plan limits with reasonable notice. Paid plans are governed by the pricing terms in effect at the time of subscription.
6. Scan Reports and Data
Scan reports are generated as one-time downloads. Aletheos does not permanently store scan outputs. You are responsible for retaining any reports you need for your own records. We retain scan metadata for 90 days for quota and audit purposes.
7. Third-Party Services
Some features (AI Model Scanning) use third-party AI providers. Results depend on those providers' data and policies, which are outside our control. Aletheos makes no warranty as to the completeness of any scan result.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is". Aletheos makes no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all data brokers will honour removal requests. Legal outcomes depend on the policies and compliance of third-party data brokers.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aletheos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by emailing privacy@aletheos.tech. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
11a. Billing, Subscriptions & Refunds
Paid plans are sold via a separate Terms of Sale and Subscription Agreement, which form part of these Terms. Annual plans are discounted approximately 17% ("pay for 10, get 12"). Cancellation of an annual plan before the 12-month term forfeits the discount — see our Refund Policy for the clawback calculation and a 7-day cooling-off refund window for new annual subscriptions.
11b. Pricing & Taxes
Prices are displayed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) for customers in Canada and in United States Dollars (USD) elsewhere. Harmonized Sales Tax (HST at 13% in Ontario) will be added at checkout once Aletheos is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency for HST. Until registration, no HST is collected. Stripe is our payment processor; we do not store card numbers.
11c. Email & Electronic Communications (CASL)
We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By creating an account you consent to receive transactional and service emails. Marketing emails require a separate opt-in; you may withdraw that consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email, processed within ten (10) business days. See our CASL Compliance statement.
11d. Accessibility (AODA)
Aletheos is committed to meeting the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and targeting WCAG 2.0 Level AA on our public website. See our Accessibility Statement for details, known gaps, and the feedback channel for accessibility issues.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email with at least 30 days' notice, consistent with the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 renewal-notice guidance. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Contact
For questions regarding these Terms or to contact our Privacy Officer, email legal@aletheos.tech or privacy@aletheos.tech. Consumers may also escalate privacy complaints to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Ontario IPC.
